Great news!!! We’ve finally received our VERY FIRST piece for The Cardboard Project. A beautiful piece entitled “Wind Over Fire” by the talented Billy Tice.

Hey all! Hope everyone’s enjoying the rain.

But, to shed a ray of sunlight on everyone’s day–we’ve finally reached the halfway point in participants for the cardboard project!! So first of all thanks everyone for participating and publicizing but also–don’t stop! We still need 50 more.

As always I can use all the help I can get getting word out about the project.

Does anyone have any suggestions on good ways to do this? Obviously craigslist has been doing me a lot of good so far, but I know there are other ways out there.

I’m open to any and all suggestions–throw them my way.

Deadline (Tentatively) Set!

Well–it looks like as The Cardboard Project gets more and more exposure, and more and more participants, the common question seems to be–

When’s the deadline?

Originally I was waiting until I could make sure I could get all of the artists in time, but as the project grows, it looks like it’s about time.

For the moment, the deadline for entries is set to:

September 1, 2009

Keep in mind this may change based on how quickly the rest of the artists trickle in, but I will keep everyone updated, I promise!

Need Cardboard?

Thanks to a friend of a friend, we received a generous–and rather large–donation of cardboard boxes from Petsmart.

So if anyone is being hindered by lack of cardboard, I now have PLENTY!

A permanent home for TCP!

Craigslist is great and all–but The Cardboard Project was in desperate need of a permanent home on the internet. So, welcome to it!

This will be the home of all of the news, updates, and stories that revolve around The Cardboard Project, as well as a place for all of the artists to meet and interact.

We’re going on Day 5 of the project now, and are finally starting to gain some momentum! All of the official documents have been sent out to the current artists and local galleries have been contacted so we can start finding a nice place for everyone’s great work when it all comes together.

Confession time, though. We’re going to need some help getting the word out about TCP if we want to make it a reality…(Craigslist and our own big mouths only get us so far), so if you’re as excited about this as we are, spread the word! Get your friends to join in.
